Extra Point Press author Sam Hendricks attends Gold Medal Soccer Match at 2012 Olympics

Congratulations to the U.S Womens Soccer team as they defeated rival Japan 2-1 in the Gold Medal match of the 2012 Olympics. Japan entered the fixture as a rival after defeating the U. S team in the World Cup last year in a penalty kick shootout.

Extra Point Press author Sam Hendricks attended the game at Wembley Stadium with his wife, Birgitte. Sam said afterwards, "We had great seats in the lower level J section. Wembley is amazing and the crowd was very into it as both the U.S and Japan were well represented."

The U.S advanced to the finals only after a come from behind dramatic victory over Canada 4-3. Alex Morgan scored the winning header in injury time after the second extra period of play in that semi final game.

Sam "Slam" Hendricks commented about Morgan after the Gold Medal win, "She is the fastest player on the field. She is everywhere. What a key player for this team!"
